RIGA PAINT
Riga Paint
data sheet
Product
Birch plywood (Riga Ply) overlaid with a painting film on the wear
side or both the sides (P/P), thus providing the surface of panel for
painting.
Riga Paint plywood does not crack during interior and exterior
application.
Application
Walls, ceilings, surfaces of furniture, front doors to be painted, lorries,
factory rooms, containers, household, trailer side boards, traffic signs,
information and advertising boards.
Advantage
Environmentally friendly, easy and fast to paint, less consumption of paint
and it does not crack during interior and exterior application.
Recommendations
Surface must be painted in case of outdoor application! Following paints are
suitable: epoxy, polyurethane, alkyd paint, water-soluble acrylic paint for
exterior application. Painting must be performed according to the paint
manufacturers' instructions.
Gluing classes
Plywood is glued with waterproof phenol formaldehyde resin adhesive. Bonding
is resistant to weather and boiling water. It meets requirements of the
following standards:
EN 314 / 3rd class;
BS 1203 / H4 (previously WBP);
DIN 68705 Part 3 / type BFU 100.
Formaldehyde emission
In accordance with the standard EN 13986 formaldehyde emission
meets the Class E1 requirements. Test method EN 717 Part 2.
Overlaying
The panel is overlaid with a painting paper and glue film during
hot-pressing process. Total weight of surfacing (depends on the applied films)
is 350-400 g/m2. It is possible to have such an overlay (P/P)
on both the sides (identical or different), or a painting paper on one side and
phenolic film on the reverse side, or a painting paper on one side and the
plywood quality of the reverse side is BB, WGE.
Overlaying colour
Light brown.
Overlaying characteristics
The painting paper forms a base that does not require any sanding. Thus,
paint consumption is reduced and such an overlaying prevents the cracking of
paint coating when the product is used under outdoor conditions.
Edges sealing
Edges of the panels are sealed against moisture penetration by using brown
acrylic paint. Other colours are available; edges may be unsealed at customers'
request.
